OUR VISION

Every weekend across the UK, something special happens on grassroots rugby pitches. Outstanding tries are scored. Teams produce moments of brilliance. Communities create memories worth celebrating. And yet, most of it never travels beyond the touchline.

Grassroots rugby is full of quality. It just lacks visibility.

Grassroots Rugby Meat Pies exists to change that. We are building a national digital platform dedicated purely to showcasing the very best amateur rugby tries across England, Scotland and Wales. One simple concept, executed relentlessly.

Players submit their best tries. Clubs rally behind their own. The community decides the winner. Recognition is earned in front of a national audience. This is not about complicated formats or diluted content. It is focused, consistent and built for the whole grassroots game. The Try of the Week sits at the heart of the channel, creating something players, clubs and supporters can rally around every single week. The winning try does not just win a prize. It wins recognition. And that is what people share.

OUR STORY

Grassroots Rugby Meat Pies is personal to us.

We have both lived and breathed grassroots rugby for most of our lives. One of us grafted in the tight, hit rucks and did the unseen work. The other had the freedom to put the finishing touches on moves and cross the whitewash. Different roles, same passion.

Around ten years ago, we started working together on rugby projects with a purpose beyond the pitch. We created and ran a charity rugby programme that went on to raise over £70,000 for good causes. It brought clubs, players and communities together in the way only rugby can. When COVID hit, that project came to an abrupt halt, like so many things connected to the game. But the desire to build something meaningful for rugby never went away.

Over the past few seasons, we kept seeing the same thing. Outstanding tries. Brilliant team play. Moments that deserved a bigger stage. Yet they were lost in private group chats, scattered social feeds and club pages with limited reach. So we decided it was time to start again.

Grassroots Rugby Meat Pies is our next chapter. A project built for the greater good of the grassroots game. A national platform that celebrates the best amateur rugby tries, gives players and clubs the recognition they deserve, and creates something the whole community can rally behind.

This time, we are building it to last.
